How Two Become One...For Life

A good marriage is a grand challenge.  Commitment without condition does not come natural to the independent human heart. But God designed marriage to be just such a covenant--a connection to someone who will be there no matter what.

Kim and I were both unbelievers when married in 1994 while still in high school. We were completely unaware of God's plan and on the fast-track to becoming a tragic statistic.  But even though we were not followers of Jesus at the time, in his grace, God created an environment which cultivated unity and forged a God honoring unconditional partnership.  It was not until some years later, after we both became followers of Christ, that I realized how God had used my own journey with vision loss as a catalyst for marital unity God's way.

This light-hearted series deals with the heavy topic of how God can make "two become one" as Kim and I reveal our own journey to learning that "Love Must be Blind."

Testimonies

Wow, what can we say?  We have had an awesome experience this weekend.  Not only has this retreat brought us closer together, but it has given us a deeper understanding of God's design for marriage. . . We feel as we are leaving with a new respect and appreciation for one another as well as tools to help us resolve conflict. . . Major and Kim, we thank you for all the little things you thought of to make this weekend a hit.  From the gift bags, to the picnic and ice-cream date, I can't imagine things being any better.

I can't explain how much fun and how special this weekend has been.  As working parents to three boys we don't get much alone time. This weekend has been amazing from arriving to a room stocked with treat bags, chocolates, and special treats just for us to three full meals a day cooked and served to us.  We have been so relaxed and happy spending alone time and being with other couples.  My favorite time was the picnic Kim made us and having to choose a special place that just the two of us would go and eat.  That is something we would have never done. Thank you so much, Kim and Major for a weekend we will never forget.
